Rajbhasha

OVERVIEW/BACKGROUND

 

Various provisions of Official Language have been laid in Constitution of India under Part-17, Article 343 to 351. At the same time, various provisions have also been laid under Rajbhasha Act, 1963, Rajbhasha Resolution, 1968, Rajbhasha Rule, 1976 etc.

The Corporation has always been aware and striving to ensure compliance of various Rajbhasha provisions. 100% employees of the Corporation have working knowledge in Hindi and majority of them are proficient. The Corporation has achieved more than 95% in Hindi correspondence and Hindi Noting on files.

Inspection and review of works of official language is undertaken from time to time by the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Department of Official Language, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India and Nagar Rajbhasha Karyanyan Samittee Delhi (Upkram-2).  The Committee of Parliament on Official Language also reviews through inspection programmes from time to time.

The Corporation organizes Hindi Pakhwada& Hindi Diwasevery year.  During Hindi Pakhwada various competitions are organized and participantsare awarded by prize and Certificate. During various occasions, competitions are also organized in Hindi language to encourage the officials to work in Hindi. The Corporation regularly publishes its Rajbhasha Magazine "Rajbhasha Subhashini" every year.
